The Inn on Front Street is located in historic Downtown Statesville. The owners, Jerilyn & Mike Davidson, have a great affection for the City of Statesville, a passion for building community within the city, and especially for hosting the wonderful guests that come from all over to stay at The Inn.
The Inn on Front Street is a 1917 Edwardian-style home featured on the National Registry of Historic Places, and is within walking distance of vibrant restaurants and shops, award-winning local craft-beer breweries, live music, the iconic Statesville Clock Tower, and more. Nearby area vineyards are also popular places to visit while staying at The Inn. The bedrooms at The Inn are furnished with antiques and stylish, upscale bedding on king or queen-size beds. The downstairs parlor, living room, and sunroom have beautiful furniture and seating, and are cozy spots to relax, read, or even enjoy board games. In addition to the beautiful dinning room where breakfast is served, the backyard deck is also a nice place to enjoy breakfast and provides a view of the gardens (which flourish in the spring and summer), majestic walnut and pecan trees, and soothing fountains.
The Inn was originally built in 1917 as a residence for Charles H. Turner, who invented farm tractor implements under the name Turner Machinery. After several different owners, the home was restored in 2004 and opened as a charming bed and breakfast in 2005. Since then, it has been the ideal accommodation for romantic getaways, quaint weddings, and family reunions, as well as a peaceful resting place for snowbirds-in-transit and business travelers. The Inn was also the setting for extensive filming of the 2020 movie Discarded Things, staring Karen Abercrombie.
